Anxiety doesn't just weigh on the mind- it crushes the spirit.  I've seen it in my patients' eyes, in their breathless stories, and yes, in my own quiet moments of doubt.  As a Yale professor, clinical senior instructor at the Yale School of Medicine, and a follower of Christ, I wrote this book for those who love Jesus but feel like they're losing themselves.  This isn't another quick-fix self-help guide or a checklist of calming techniques.  It's a journey through medicine, psychology, and, most importantly, faith.

We'll talk about how anxiety takes root in the body, scrambles the mind, and distorts relationships.  But we'll also talk about healing—not just from symptoms, but from the spiritual fracture beneath them.  We'll meet people who are striving, breaking, and seeking.  We'll challenge the lies anxiety tells and explore how surrender —not striving —leads to peace.

This book is for the believer who still struggles.  It's for the overachiever, the broken-hearted, the quietly suffering.  And it's for the one who prays but still panics.  Together we'll walk toward the only anchor strong enough to hold - Jesus Christ.

If you've ever whispered, "Lord, help me," in the silence of the night.... I wrote this book for you.

Christian Medicine is the original book in the series, in which I lay the foundation for the true integration of disease, medical treatments and our faith in Jesus Christ.

We look first at the nature of disease:  why does it exist?  If  we have a perfect, omnipotent God, why are we not all healed of all diseases by prayer?  We look how diseases is a consequence of original sin, and at times our person sin, but can befall any of us at any times.

We then look at our response to disease.  Medical treatments are considered a gift from God, as He is the one who has enlightened us with the knowledge for our many medical and surgical breakthroughs of the last century.  We are not to avoid them, but to embrace them as the gift they are.

Still. we know that gifts can be misused and overused, and  we must always worship God with all our hart and soul even in the most dire of circumstances.  Ultimately, our Lord can give us what medicine can never give:  eternal life.

Armed with this knowledge, we will look at how we approach our own health, how we can prevent illness and disease in some cases, and why that is a good and proper thing.  We will also look a dying, and how our Christian faith can guide us even unto our final days.

Christian Medicine and Pain is the second book in the series, and now the bestselling book of the three.  In this book, I answer based on Biblical principles, why pain exists in the first place, given that we have an omnipotent God, who seemingly should be able to instantly take all pain away.

However, most of the book walks through our response to chronic pain.  I do discuss the latest medical techniques to alleviate pain, whether it emanates  from cancer, orthopedics, fibromyalgia, or any other  cause.  God has gifted us the knowledge to treat many different kinds of pain, and for that we should have a heart of gratitude.

We then walk through our spiritual response.  We now understand that a soulful faith leads to less pain, and that is now becoming more understood by the medical establishment.  We look at spiritual techniques and prayers that help us understand pain a s calling to live more dependently on Christ.

We also look at the mental aspects of pain, and how e can use mental exercises and practices to help with pain.  We even look at the social aspects of pain, and how a "pain" label can be crippling.  Our social life can help us alleviate pain.

For all who suffer from chronic pain, this book is for you.  Together let us walk together to deepen our walk with Christ while we alleviate pain.
